Election Week 2020 Got You Stressed? Take a "Momentary Lapse" with Soothing Streams from Compelling Artists

Are the bags under your eyes no longer carry-on size? Do you have a throbbing headache from crunching poll numbers with failed attempts at long division? Are your shoulders about to tense right out of their sockets? Take a pause with “Momentary Lapse,” a project dreamed up by Working Not Working Members Jennifer Page, Phuong Nguyen, and Villy Devlioti.

After seeing the effect this election was having on their friends, the trio enlisted a fleet of more than 17 artists to create 1-2 minute loops of “chillness”. The Momentary Lapse website simply asks you to hit a button when you “Need A Break” from the brain-bending and demoralizing noise. It might might be just what your cracked-out brain, crooked shoulders, and curled toes have asked for.

The lineup of artists include Alex McLeod, Cody Healey-Conelly, Qieer Wang, Somil Mahta, Bella Cologlu, Eugene Sharp, Rad Mora, Sónia Rodrigues, Hannah Smith, Rory Scott, Butter Studio, Thomas Moore, Sabine Volkert, Candice Botelho Coelho, Soojin Lee, and Benjamin Carrier.

Momentary Lapse has also incorporated an invaluable reminder that the important work doesn’t end when the final votes are tallied. “Local politics are where the big things happen for our communities. If you liked your momentary lapse, we ask that you visit Soft Power Vote and learn more about the issues down the block.”
