The 5th Annual Working Not Working Holiday Party: Recap

The 5th Annual Working Not Working Holiday Party: Recap

We kicked off the holiday season with our 5th Annual Working Not Working Holiday Party on Saturday night. This year we held it in Los Angeles. Big thanks to all of you who danced and drank with us. Our annual NYC Holiday Party has earned a bit of a reputation, and we decided it was time to bring the festivities to the West Coast. Debauchery ensued. Friends were made. Their names were not remembered.

We partnered with long time friends Goin’ Up, who have been keeping the LA ad industry connected and buzzed for a couple years now. They brought the beats with 5 amazing DJs, including Goin’ Up Founders Geovanni Panchame and Andrew Lindley, who made sure the dance floor was sweaty til 2 AM.

A party this big wouldn’t have been possible without Alldayeveryday, a production company, who hosted our 1,000+ partygoers in their project space which is used for events and pop-up experiences in the Arts District DTLA. They concepted and art directed the space with a modern, apocalyptic holiday twist, complete with painted Christmas Trees hanging upside down from the 40’ rafters.

We danced our faces off and had a couple of awesome guest appearances. A three-piece brass band, The Downtown Horns, and award-winning electric violinist Peter Lee Johnson accompanied the DJs and made the rounds.

It’s not a party without an open bar and we brought the best off the shelf. Guests enjoyed craft cocktails including a Mount Gay Rum Maple Spice Old Fashioned, Kimo Sabe Mezcal margaritas, and other delicious libations. The Libre Tequila sipping (or shooting) bar got things kicking and Silverlake Wines tricked people into thinking we're sophisticated. Pizzanista soaked up some of that alcohol with dozens of pies delivered hot around midnight.

#picsoritdidnthappen. The Bosco GIF photo booth provided evidence of a good time. Make sure to check out the Facebook album filled with photos from photographer Jackie Russo and watch some Christmas tree swinging in videographer Curtis Pickell’s party recap above.

A huge shout out to our WNW members in LA. We definitely plan to make this a new tradition. And thanks again to all the sponsors who made this party happen.

New York, we’ll be counting on you to help us celebrate our 5-year anniversary in January. Look out for event details in the coming weeks.
