Hi Stranger, This Short Will Leave You Creeped Out Yet Comforted
MIKE O'DONNELL / EDITOR
"Hi Stranger. It's been awhile..." That's how WNW Member Kirsten Lepore's newest short film starts. And just like that, we're finally reunited with a noseless, clothesless and waxy individual we never realized we were missing. In under 3 minutes, Kirsten, who wrote, directed, and animated this wonder of a film, will leave you bewitched and conflicted between feeling creeped out or comforted. Was it the bedroom eyes that blink for a half-second too long and too late? Was is it the whispery voice supported by ambient meditation music? Or was it the pronounced and rosy butt that this stranger has given you permission to look at? That's just the start of a long list of questions you'll have afterward. Enjoy.
Kirsten Lepore is a Los Angeles-based Director and Animator, who has taken top prizes at film festivals like SXSW and Slamdance. Last year, we interviewed Kirsten after she wrote and directed an episode of Adventure Time.
