"We Love Recruiters" Is a Love Song to the Unsung Heroes of the Creative Industry

Working Not Working May 31, 2022

WORKING NOT WORKING

Being ghosted during the hiring process. Managing unrealistic asks from potential candidates. Filling several roles simultaneously with tight budgets and tighter deadlines. We’re forever in conversation with creative recruiters. It’s an incredibly gratifying profession. But it isn’t easy.

To serve up some major respect for the super challenging and oft under-appreciated work that talent hirers do day-in and day-out, Working Not Working presents “We Love Recruiters,” a love song and rallying cry for the unsung heroes of the creative industry. Taking the form of a music video (and maintaining our reverence for irreverence), the lyrics cheekily assume the POV of the spread-paper-thin recruiter, giving them a voice to share their exhaustive experiences.

The Great Resignation has meant that recruiters have had to deal with so many hurdles in the battle for talent, with over 4.5 million people quitting their jobs and with 11.55 million job openings, just in March alone (Department of Labor). It has never been more challenging to not only find the right talent but convince them to join and commit to a company.

In the last two years, our customer base, which includes recruiters and creative leadership from the world’s top brands, has doubled. We want to champion these people who prioritize bringing human creativity into the new economy.

“With employees in the driver’s seat, recruiters are powering through a unique time in hiring,” said Adam Tompkins, Chief Creative Officer and Co-Founder of Working Not Working. “They rarely have their moment to shine and this video aims to let people in on their experience in a comedic way and highlight their value to an organization in this insanely tough talent economy.”
